In the Shadow of Esau

The key to understanding our future is veiled in the shadow of the Hebrew Prophets as it pertains to Israel.

“I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid?”Benjamin Franklin.[1]

Ecc 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

Ecc 3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

“I have no trouble with the parts of the bible that I don’t understand, it’s the parts I do understand that trouble me”. Mark Twain

The notion that having an election is a process to acquiring of rights, and liberty is blowing up in the face of Our Leaders of the west. Just take a look at the mess made in Gaza at the insistence of Bush and Rice. Hamas rules by the popular vote. Have we forgotten how we became a nation of free men? In the beginning we were free English colonist who bound ourselves by mutual consent to be self governing as we were so far from the King of England and his Parliament. There must be a mutual moral code we must govern ourselves as Individuals.

There is no greater bounds of conscience than that is found in the Mosaic Law and the Liberty enjoyed than in Christian New testament redemption. The foundation of property rights is shown in the Ten Commandments thou shalt not steal,( deprive by unjust means)…thou shalt not covet,( contrive by coercion of state) or self, to acquire the property of others, for the benefit other than the just owners.

Our nation today is filled with people who are trying to figure out why the world is on end since 9/11. It truly was a pivotal moment for the western world. It for the first time put Islam, on the American radar as a credible threat to our way of life since the fall of the Soviet Union.

As the Geo Political events advance to an undisciplined measure of un-discernable cadence, the spiritual foundations support, and gives a counter harmony that makes the flow of human events an un-mistakable signet of divine conduction.

There was a traceable geopolitical caveat that activated a providential trip wire of desolation. It is found in the prophet of Joel 3:1,2

Joe 3:1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

Joe 3:2  I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

The Pilgrims, who in their piety took action, by fleeing a Popish Lust for Unity, via the State Church. The Roman Church maintained, oppression and intimidation as the means of securing the allegiance .The Pilgrims sought for Lands ruled by righteousness, and respect for their neighbor,  only to be assailed again on our own soil by terrorist who came on wings of death. Now they are Championed, by a Mongrel Islamic/Christian hybrid, who bows to enemies as friends, and Rebuffs the history of heroes, as villains![2]

The Relationship between The United States and Israel is best characterized

as brothers: One Elder and Prosperous and a brute to deal with the other cunning, shrewd, a real survivor, and in his own right prosperous as well.

Israel precedes, America by 2500 years. In the lasts days, America comes to power before Israel is regathered in the 20th century. America has in the last two centuries been a safe haven for the Diaspora.

In the fight for our national sovereignty, Jews of the Americas as well as Europe contributed to the war effort to the amount of $ 1,000,000.[3] One partner to Robert Morris, Hiaym Solomon was invaluable in securing funds for the American Revolution. It has been said that as a reward for his service to the war effort, Hayim asked nothing for himself but for the Jewish people. So it has been asserted that the memorial of the Jewish contribution to our Physical freedom can be seen on the back of the Dollar bill in the form of a Star of David on the Great Seal.[4]

The Reason for the success of the American Revolution was not in the strategic prowess of the colonial settlers, or the financial aid she received, but in the blessing of divine providence according to the purposes known only to God. Washington, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, Adams, and countless others testify to the unwavering deliverances they came to acknowledge at the war’s end.

This book is not an effort to prove when America will fall as a beacon of Liberty, that would require omniscience, rather to declare the why it will.

If one truly knew the reason why America  rose to prominence, and took her place among the Nations, then he would have some insight concerning her demise. The First recognized world empire that got honorable mention in the scriptures was none other than Babylon/Iraq. Funny isn’t it that Iraq figures so predominately in the news of late.

Incidentally over 2600 years ago a leader of an Empire got a lesson in foreign policy from a remote country. To his surprise he learned who was really on whose leash.

(Dan 4:27)  Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquility.

(Dan 4:28)  All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

(Dan 4:29)  At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

(Dan 4:30)  The king spoke, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?

(Dan 4:31)  While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.

(Dan 4:32)  And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

It is Almighty GOD who sets up and pulls down among the nations.

(Pro 21:1)  The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Isa 44:28  That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

Isa 45:1  Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have Holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will lose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

These are but a few examples of how God rules and reigns in the affairs of men.

Benjamin Franklin, who was a deist in the beginning of his life, deferred to his practical observation he made of the proceedings of the war with England. He had numerous correspondence with those who experienced firsthand of the miraculous deliverances that saw them through the battle with the then worlds “Super Power”.

What needs to be remembered at this point of history is that this courageous effort for liberty began over 150 years earlier in England with the Plymouth brethren.

The Pilgrims left England for Holland then after a few years the decision was made to establish a settlement in the “New World.” The Pilgrims weren’t the first to make the move; in 1607 Jamestown was settled and resettled then resupplied. The mortality rate was rather high. It has been said that Jamestown was settled in the pursuit of Gold, Plymouth in the pursuit of God. Gov. William Bradford wrote of this in his history “of Plymouth Plantation”

The Pilgrims claimed the promises made to Israel concerning the conquest of the New World. As time passed, God would grant the blessings sought by their righteous pursuit.

(Deu 28:1)  And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

(Deu 28:7)  The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

(Deu 28:8)  The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

(Deu 28:9)  The LORD shall establish thee a holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

This was the pursuit of the pilgrims and the resulting 150 + years of piety in the American home was culminated in the generation of patriots who as free men declared a state of Liberty in a United Nation of States under God.

Warren Buffet stated that “the American Economy is the greatest engine of wealth invented by man.”   (Deu 8:17)  And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.

(Deu 8:18)  But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

I guess Warren never read this part of the bible. God is maker of rich and poor alike. Even if Mr. Buffet is an avowed atheist, it is the Lord who gave him his sharp mind, and allows him to keep it. Remember Nebucadnezzer.

What God blesses He can also curse.  (Deu 8:19)  And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

(Deu 8:20)  As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God.

Here are some of the curses upon the Nation who forsakes GOD, be it Israel or the United States.

1. Calamites in Cities and Farmlands Deut 28:16

2. Food supply and Storage v17

3. Infanticide, Flock reproduction affected v18

4. Disease and Mildew/Mold.v19-22

5. Natural Disasters, Illegal immigration, undue preferential treatment above the citizens.v43

6.  Debtor nation rather than Creditors. v44

7. Terror attacks by foreign invaders.  (Lev 26:16)  I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, <  The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

Deu 28:50  A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young: >  consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. (Lev 26:23)  And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;

(Lev 26:24)  Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.

(Lev 26:25)  And I will bring a sword upon you that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

8. A high mortality rate among our military. This is part of the Judgment of GOD upon our nation. This is in no way a reflection upon the individual Soldier. GOD is sovereign in all scenarios.  (Lev 26:38)  And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

All of this is done in the hopes of getting the attention of the nation so they would repent of their present course of defiance, rather than a humble reliance upon G-D.

This is best illustrated by the lives lived as recorded in the Word of G-D which was given for our ensample to receive instruction.

T

o Pierce the shadow of the life of the estranged brother Of Jacob, one  would do well to look into the lives of two of Israel’s most memorable kings.

Saul and David have much to say even from the dust of 3000 years ago.   Remember that this book is based on the Bible, which is a Kingdom book. All Kingdoms come to power by bloodshed! The Bible runs crimson with the blood of men and sacrifice. We will have to endure some bloodletting in order to shed some light on this matter of Esau.

As the light of the word of G-D shines forth, certain events as recorded in the holy -writ cast a shadow of type that precedes the actual arrival of the event. Just as one walking in the light of day does cast a shadow before-hand upon the ground; so the shadow gives away the form on the one who is about to arrive.

I

n the deserts of Canaan 2 sons were born to Isaac, The elder would serve and soon despise the younger. A deep seated jealousy was born that would burn for over 4,000 years. Much blood would be spilled between these “brethren”. Even today presidents and world empires aspire to settle the feud that boils over  as you  read these words. Only time will tell what shall be the result of the “peace conference” in Annapolis, Maryland.

M

any have said that there would be no peace in the middle east until the prince of peace comes. I have even made the same statement myself while teaching on bible prophecy .What needs to be realized is that there is coming a time of false peace that will reign in the world, as well as Israel, implying that that the messianic age will come at that time. It will be accomplished by a covenant in which the terms call for a cessation of hostilities for at least, or up to 7 years. Exactly 42 months into this it is broken by a defilement of the newly rebuilt temple on the mountain of Moriah.

E

arly in life, David  realized the need for a direct dependence upon GOD. He watched over the flocks at night and defended them from a lion/a type of Satan, as well as a bear/a type of destruction by enemy forces. David was a Type of protector from both. His faithfulness in other men’s things proved that he could be trusted with things of his own. A true man after God’s own heart was a keeper of the sheep, as well as an obedient servant to the Lord. This warrior had more fight in his heart as a youth than all of Israel’s army. The truth that fueled his zeal for the Lord of host is found in  Jos 1:5  There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.  He trusted not in his expertise, rather had expectation in a great God.

S

aul on the other hand was not one to follow orders to the letter. He could do right when he was little in his own sight, yet when the time came to test his dependence on the LORD alone, he failed miserably .Saul forced himself to offer the sacrifice Samuel was to offer. He forced himself into an office which he had no business operating in. Saul feared the people, and what they would think of him rather that consider what the LORD had   clearly revealed to him.

U

pon reading the following passage, a truth dawned within me that the lives lived by these two colorful bible characters were an example of a greatly neglected lesson. Ezek 33:11 Say unto them, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Ezek 33:12  Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

Ezek 33:13  When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

Ezek 33:14  Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

Ezek 33:15  If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Ezek 33:16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

Ezek 33:17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

Ezek 33:18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

Ezek 33:19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

P

erhaps the best illustration of this truth is the treatment of the historical record of the lives of Saul, and David as it is found in the account of the prophet Samuel, as well as the Chronicles of the Kings by Ezra.

2Samuel 11:1

And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Jo-ab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.

1Chronicles 20:1

And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Jo-ab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem. And Jo-ab

smote Rabbah, and destroyed it.

2Samuel 11:2

2Sa 11:2  And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

1Chronicles 20:2

And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David’s head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.

So really what do you think of this obvious difference of accounts? Would you blame it on some scribal error? If you check closely you will find that the account of David’s life from 2Samuel 11:2 though 2 Samuel 23:39 has been blotted out.

Take a look at Ezekiel 33:15, 16 and reason with the scriptures as to why this omission occurred.

Psalms 51 was written during the lifetime of David, as well as the contents of Samuel & Kings. 1&2 Chronicles was written after the repentance seen in the 51st Psalm took place. Saul on the other hand, whose beginning was humble and triumphant, fell into disgrace. Saul only received an obituary notice on his life in 1Chronicles 10:1-14.

In 1Samuel 31:1-13 the same chapter is given without the commentary of the additional verse 14 of Chronicles…enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him. None of the good that Saul did was even mentioned in Chronicles, such as the rescue of the men of Jabesh-gil-e-ad. The reason is found in…

Ezek 18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

The record is quite clear, Saul died in rebellion to God. In doing so he reaped a reward of dishonorable mention. It is said out of the mouth of two or three witnesses let everything be established. The second witness to this phenomenon is found in the book of Hebrews 11:2. When you read of the accounts of the elders of Israel, in comparison to the accounts given in the Old Testament, there are obvious deletions of shortcomings and faults in this postmortem record.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. The truth comes to light that not only is it important on how you live, but how you die as well.

Their service does not affect the inheritance only the reward.

Act 26:18  To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

The rules of receiving a reward are as follows.

1Co 3:8  Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.

1Co 3:14  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

1Co 3:15  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

So here it is the inspired criteria for the Lord to forget as well to forgive. Try getting the brethren to do that. Still yet, don’t allow past successes to entice you to coast in to Glory either. If you fall out of love with the Savior, your service will produce an ill savor. So you ask what does this have to do with Esau?

Esau is the brother to Jacob, who in the process of time becomes a bitter rival to Israel. In the poor choice of his preference of satisfying his flesh over his privileged position as spiritual leader, he incurred the disdain of the Lord God. In short he goes wrong and never gets right. In fact his descendants carry on the bitter feud right up to the Babylonian captivity.

Oba 1:10  For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off forever.

Oba 1:11  In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.

Oba 1:12  But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.

Oba 1:13  Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;

Oba 1:14  Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.

Oba 1:15  For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

Here is a clear sign as to how things will go for a nation that opposes the nation of Israel. This is consistent with the principal laid out in Genesis 12:3.

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head

When the United States of America starts acting like Esau, don’t you think we would get the same treatment that Edom was and will be dealt? I think it’s time for a history lesson. Esau and his descendants settled south of the dead sea east and west of the Jordan river.

“The children of Esau replaced the Horites who dwelt in Seir Gen 14:6 Deu 2:22 . When Israel tried to pass through the land the king would not grant them passage.

Israel was forbidden to “abhor an Edomite,” on the ground that he was a brother; and children of the third generation might enter the assembly of the Lord (Deu_23:7 f).

Some thirty years after the Exodus, Ramses III “smote the people of Seir.” The Israelites could not have been far off. We first hear of war between Israel and Edom under Saul (1Sa_14:47). David prosecuted the war with terrific energy, slaying 18,000 Edomites,  Joab remaining for six months in the country, which was garrisoned by Israelites, “until he had cut off every male in Edom” (1Ki_11:15 f). Hadad of the blood royal of Edom escaped to Egypt, and later became a source of trouble to Solomon (1Ki_11:14,1Ki_11:25). The conquest of Edom opened to Israel the ports of the Red Sea, whence the expeditions of Solomon and Jehoshaphat set out. In Jehoshaphat’s time the king is called a “deputy” (1Ki_22:47). Its king acknowledged the supremacy of Judah (2Ki_3:9, etc.). Under Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat, Edom revolted. Jehoram defeated them at Zair, but was unable to quell the rebellion (2Ki_8:20). Amaziah invaded the country, slew 10,000 in the Valley of Salt, and took Sela which he named Joktheel (2Ki_14:7). Uzziah restored the Edomite port of Elath (2Ki_14:22). In the Syrian war Rezin regained Elath for Syria, and cast out the Jews.  From the cuneiform inscriptions we learn that when Tiglath-pileser subdued Rezin, among the kings from whom he received homage at Damascus was Qaus-malaka of Edom (736 bc). Later Malik-ram paid homage to Sennacherib. To Ezarhaddon also they were compelled to render service. They gave what help they could to Nebuchadnezzar, and exulted in the destruction of Jerusalem, stirring the bitterest indignation in the hearts of the Jews (Lam_4:21; Eze_25:12; Eze_35:3; Oba_1:10). The Edomites pressed into the now empty lands in the South of Judah. In 300 bc Mt. Seir with its capital Petra fell into the hands of the Nabateans.”

 Idumaea and the Idumeans

“West of the ‛Arabah the country they occupied came to be known by the Greek name Idumaea, and the people as Idumeans. Hebron, their chief city, was taken by Judas Maccabeus in 165 bc (1 Macc 4:29, 61; 5:65). In 126 bc the country was subdued by John Hyrcanus, who compelled the people to become Jews and to submit to circumcision. Antipater, governor of Idumaea, was made procurator of Judea, Samaria and Galilee by Julius Caesar. He paved the way to the throne for his son Herod the Great. With the fall of Judah under the Romans, Idumaea disappears from history.” (Internatnional Standard Bible Encylopedia)

It is quite possible that the current Palestinian population on the west bank and in Jordan is in part descendants of the Edomites. If that be the case then Ezekiel 35 takes on a whole new light. Nabataea: Who were the Nabataeans?

Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:

Eze 35:10  Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there:

Eze 35:11  Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them;

Eze 35:15  As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumaea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Psa 83:4  They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

Psa 83:5  For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

Psa 83:6  The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

These two nations shall be mine, has a very contemporary ring to it. What is sad, America is the very reason that the arch enemy of Israel has hope for this to come to pass. We are in the midst of the biggest betrayal of one of our allies in the name of Peace. I refer to the conference in Annapolis, Maryland which I believe to be the greatest Diplomatic blunders since Neville Chamberlin proclaimed “Peace in our time”. What is really taking place is that for the sake of Saud pottage we are selling out our national birth-rite to stand for Israel, for an uninterrupted supply of Oil. Which by the way has topped 90$ a barrel at the time of this writing. Let’s remember that with “peace he shall destroy many.”  Dan 8:25.

How is it that Esau and America has become so close in policy? Could it be that the Lord God who governs and reins in the affairs of men is accomplishing his end time count-down? We have more in common with the ancient, people of Edom than I care to admit.

Remember the lesson on the forgetting of the good in Saul’s life over the fact on how he strayed from God? Could it be the reason that there is no clear reference to the good ole USA is that prophetically we blow it in the end and that is the reason for our end. Nothing worth remembering as God recons the book; even Saul got an obituary. So where am I going with this you wonder?  Twelve years ago I heard an account of an old debate between some Preachers as reported by Mark Ferguson.

It seems that in the early 60’s it was popular to sermonize on whether or not be possible for man to make it to the moon. Many took the position that it was not possible on the basis of the following text. Psalms 115:16  The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. According to some bible thumpers it was forbidden territory. In the mind of one man it was not as open and shut case as some presented so. Paul Ferguson took the simple position that man would one day land on the moon and cited the following text as his basis for the statement.(Let me remind you this debate was going on in the mid 1960’s it wasn’t until 1969 the Lunar Landing took place.)

Oba 1:4  Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.

That was all he quoted and basically all the reason he gave. I first looked at it when Mark quoted it to me I shook my head in disbelief. Then I remembered a bit of trivia. It was the name of the Lunar Landing Module for Apollo 11 then the phrase that was spoken upon touchdown. I remember because my mother placed me in front of the old Philco TV set to watch one of the greatest moments in modern history. What did they say you wonder? “The eagle has landed.” Funny where does an eagle land? In this case it was the lunar surface. Normally in nature she lands high among the cliffs protected by the great heights in her nest to secure her young from the predators. I began to research the history on how the eagle became the national symbol, as well as the nations of the past who took it for their national symbol as well.

America, Nazi Germany and the Roman Empire are the only great powers to own it as such. It is interesting to note that, America borrowed from Rome some if it’s Ideal forms for a Republican form of Government.[5] From Germany at the end of WWII America obtained the Rocket scientist from the V2 program at Peunemunde . It was Werner Van Braun that developed the Saturn 5 that got The Apollo program off the ground.[6]

In the prophetic text Esau is likened to a eagle that seeks refuge and is confident in the refuge that is chosen. Literally Edom lived in a rock fortress known today as Petra. It was believed by the inhabitants as impenetrable. America since the end of the cold war is now the only reigning super power in the world, which exalts itself as the eagle and has literally “made its nest among the stars”. Now we seek to repeat the same mistakes Edom made during the Babylonian invasion of Israel.

We are now partners for peace with one of the most prolific terrorist organizations in the world. We supply them with arms and train them in tactics that Israel has to defend against. Who is it you ask. It is the arch enemy of Israel, Fatah, formerly known as the P.L.O.[7]

Mahammoud   Abbas is the head of this impotent organization which was recently run out of Gaza by Hamas. He was the right hand man of Yasser Arafat. President Bush, who said in a state of the union speech, “that we will treat terrorist and the nations who harbor them no differently.” Now wants to sign a treaty and give these rascals a state of their own.

There is just one minor detail the quartet, the state department, the Knesset, and Fatah forgot to consider. They neglected to consult the one who holds the title deed to the promise land.

Gen 17:8  And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Gen 17:18  And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

Gen 17:19  And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Gen 17:20  And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Gen 17:21  But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

Joe 3:2  I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

In other words they, {nations who for any reason come against Israel in policy or plot} violates G-D’s rules of confrontation. (Israel) is the covenant people, and the Land is

 G-D’s.

In closing If the Lord G-D will judge the nations in the future, how much more so will He judge America in the here and now “who ought to know better.”

Politically our name is “The United States of America” spiritually I perceive it to be Edom.

Rev 11:8  And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Here the sins of this city at this time in the future is so great that the Lord inspired John not to call the city by its political geographical name, rather the spiritual name He assigns to it.

After Annapolis what will be our spiritual name? By the way the date of the conference is the 60th anniversary of the U.N. vote to divide the British mandate into two nations Jewish and Palestinian.

The day of President Bush’s arrival in Israel timed out to the day 3400 years after G_D told Moses to have Joshua to enter occupy and divide the inheritance to the children of Israel.[8]

What is extremely sad is that on August 25 2001 President Bush sent correspondence to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia to mend a rift in our diplomatic relations that was opened by the offended Monarch. It assured that President Bush would work to create a Nation out of the Jewish heartland for the Palestinians. This was an offering to secure an uninterrupted supply of oil as well as other political interest.

This political move offended another Dread Sovereign who sent his correspondence via a Jewish courier.

For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

Joe 3:2  I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

Less than two weeks later God removed the protective hedge he built around our nation.

Deu 28:25  The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies:

Deu 28:49  The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

Deu 28:50  A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favor to the young

For the efforts on behalf of Peace by Condoleezza Rice was rewarded with a terrorist shooting spree at a Jewish Yeshiva in Jerusalem on March 6, 2008.

Ashqelon was hit by katyusha grad Military issue missiles shortly after the breach in the wall separating Gaza& Egypt was made. It’s rumored that al-Qaida operatives are manning the launch of the missiles. Ehud Olmert resigned as Prime minister and Tipi Livni has succeeded as the head of Kadima by a margin of 1% 500+ votes. For the peace negotiations Jerusalem has been rewarded by 3 terror attacks by east Jerusalem Arab residents.

Now Benjamin Netanyahu has been sworn in as the new Prime minister of Israel. He is now faced with the task of Preventing the arming of Iran with a nuclear weapon. The Obama administration has Given The Saudi Initiative the official nod or bow if you please. The 2 State option is alive and well. It seems terrorism does pay if your Fatah and Hamas.

All of this is written in the hopes of all who would acknowledge Their personal sins against an Holy GOD and Repent. Yet We as a nation must give an account of our actions among the nations especially where it concerns Israel, and Repent then hold accountable our elected officials who have strayed. In the Last days all eyes will be upon Jerusalem, America had the distinction of being a Tireless supporter of the Jewish State. Unfortunately our foreign policy for the last 9 years is taking a different direction.

In the days of Jonah the Prophet, Evil was pronounced against Nineveh, yet upon hearing the message that Jonah gave they repented, and a generation was spared from destruction.

Mal 3:16  Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

Mal 3:17  And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Eze 9:4  And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Eze 9:5  And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

Eze 9:6  Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

If we mourn over our spiritual condition as well as the condition of our country, perhaps there is still time. In WWII Six Million Jews Died due to our Silence, as well as numerous Christians in those death camps.  If we are silent now in the hour of Israel’s need their blood will be on our hands.

It’s time to make some Noise

Isa 62:6  I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

Isa 62:7  And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
