Dear Ze’ev,

I am a supporter of Israel I just want an insiders view of “Obamas Policy as well as Bush’s policy”of a 2 state solution> which I personally dont think will bring a lasting peace. The subject of the book is” The rise and fall of the American Empire”. It is a look at world events through the lens of the Hebrew prophets, namely Obadiah & Joel.

I welcome any opinions and insight you offer.

Shalom,Troy Hunt

Troy,

Israelis are full of opinions and more than will share what they think with anyone about anything. Israelis are a very agressive people but a very loving and more family oriented people than Americans are. Israelis more than anything want peace, shalom. They are tired of fighting and are tired of constantly being under the threat of a possible suicide bomber. At the entrance of every public building mall library restaurant there are guards checking everyones bags etc. via metal detector. On all windows on houses and buildings are metal grates that can be pulled down in case of a bombing. The last time I was in Israel was in 2006, I was studying at the University of Haifa in Haifa. Katyusha rockets came screening down upon us and the city lit up with sirens from Lebanon. Not sirens to warn people of a tornado or a hurricane. Sirens to warn people of rockets, tilim, that were coming crashing down upon us. Americans live in a bubble. They are surrounded by ocean on two sides and 2 peaceful countries to the north and south. In the middle east death is a way of life and it is understood. Israel is a very small country and because of our past we fight tooth and nail to preserve our people. A two-state policy will never work, not because the Israelis don’t want it to, but because the Arabs will never agree to it. Americans need to wake up and realize that there are people out there that hate us and want to have us killed or converted to Islam at all costs. The war in Iraq and Afghanistan are fine examples of the Americans ignorance in how to deal with Arabs. Arabs respect a strong iron fist, the Americans show too much humility and are too fair in how they conduct war. The Arabs laugh at the Americans because of this. There can be no gentlemans war with them. The Israelis know this because they live right next to them. Feel free to ask anything else, I have been rather broad in my response to you but I hope this is ok. Shavua tov/Have a good week!

That was beautiful!! You pointed out our flawed thinking concerning the arab world.

The people in Israel that I have met are as you discribe them.

There are disfunctional families in Both countries, but in America we scatter to prove our Independence and blaze a trail to success <so we think>

The bubble comment “a situation of peaceful existence” I found a similar comment in the prophet of Obadiah.

Oba 1:3 The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

Oba 1:4 Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.

Edom of old trusted in their canyon city fortress <Petra>.as we in America trust in our bubble, who’s government is helping the decendants of EDOM/Esau ie Palistinians. If you notice the symbol used is the Eagle, who did literally make its nest among the stars! July 1969 and what was said on such occasion? The Eagle has Landed! sorry im going off topic. This portion of prophecy describes the American Pride “in Type” as well as the Literal nation of Edom who perrished as a nation state long ago. Yet we assist the rise of Esaus rebellious sons in Fatah,

See psalms

Psa 83:2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

Psa 83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

Psa 83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

Psa 83:5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

Psa 83:6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Psa 83:7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

Edom/Palistinians in Samaria,< Moab/Jordan Amalek,> and Tyre= Hezzbulla in Leabanon

Please reply concerning my observations and connectiing the old enemys of the bible to the modern names>

Thank you so much, please share this with friends as well I really want to know how i’m comming across.

Shalom, Troy

Troy,

I understand that you are Christian. But a Jew sees a Christian as one who put us through the Holocaust, and who has time and time again attempted violently to make us convert. It is a miracle that we are still a people. I will tell you, honestly Troy that Jews appreciate Christians who support us. However, Jews do realize that the majority of Christians simply support Israel because to do so is in the very tenets of their religion and to do so is to encourage the second coming of your Jesus, who will then take all the Christians to Heaven and everyone else must depart to Hell. We are very aware of that. Being Jewish as you know is more than just a religion, it is both an ethnicity and a religion. I will never depart from the course of my family’s bloodline. Christians as a whole need to take themselves out of their little box or bubble. Let me ask you this Troy. If you were born in China or a Muslim country you would have grown up being Muslim or Buddhist. This is what your ancestors believed in and this is what you believe in. Then one day a foriegner, tells you that what you are believing is wrong, and that if you do not accept his god then you are all going to hell, how would be your response? I find that you Christians can never answer that for me. There are also too many inconstancies (sp) with your Bible. One that sticks out in my mind is the fact that Matthew Mark Luke Peter and Paul never even knew Jesus. That many of them wrote themselves into the Crucifixion story 80 years after Jesus died. Anyways, I appreciate your support but you must see how Jews view Christians. Your cross has very much been equated to the swatika and all you have to do is look in a history book to see what I am talking about. I hope I did not offend you and I hope that you are open to discussion about such topics and not closed minded/and or ignorant to debate as many Christians are.

Take care,

Ze’ev

Wow how refreshing I am not offended at all. As far as the Forced conversion thing I dont tolerate that at all. These points you raise I would discuss later, but the Verses I sent in the Last are from the Hebrew scriptures, What did you see in the jewish prophets of Obadiah,as well as the Psalms 83? Do you see any relevant application to current events? As for the foreigner telling me that I believe in the wrong God …9/11 was a foreign statement to put it bluntly, -one your people have been living with since May 1948. now Ameihdjadad or whatever his name is wants the finish off Israel. (which will never happen) As a matter of fact .

The following was written by a Jew, Isaiah. So the rest of the world who are gentiles like me have to deal with a G-D who chose the Jews.

Isa 45:16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.

Isa 45:17 But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

Isa 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Isa 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

Isa 45:20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

Isa 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me.

Isa 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

That friend is a Jewish G-D Your G-D I had to embrace that truth!

So according to Isaiah; Buddah Vishnu,Allah, etc are put in their place.

So really the verses in Obadiah and Psalms did they make sense or did I miss it? The point of the book is to make the case for a warning to Israel concerning American Foreign policy and a wake up call to the Sleepy Americans to stand with Israel.

I couldn’t to do anything to hasten the second coming of Jesus, He will come when He is sent.

Like my Fathers before me in the 1930’s I could be silent and let history take its course, or I could be a faithful watchman ,and sound the alarm.

Righteousness demands a voice to be heard, Shalom,Troy
